About Me

I am a very experienced teacher, trainer, facilitator and mentor in the field of inclusive education, autism, special educational needs, learning disabilities, social inclusion, disability and neurodiversity. The focus of my PhD was on the transition experiences of autistic students leaving school to go to college.

I have initiated and developed modules on autism and education, inclusion, disabled childhoods, autism and sensory differences, autism and transition and disability and social care. I also work one-to-one as a specialist mentor for autistic university students and neurodivergent professionals who may need support in navigating work and life experiences and offer occasional workshops for families. Internationally, I have developed teacher training packages and reports on inclusion in Pakistan, Uganda, Senegal, Malawi and Jordan.

I have also presented at international conferences in Norway, the USA, Denmark and the UK on autism research, disability inclusion and transitions. I am the co-director of the Autism Community Research Network Sussex (ACORNS) and a governor at a local special school.
